We make each handmade leather dog lead to order in our Northumberland workshop, using the same Italian leather as our collars. There are 28 colours to choose from, so you can match your Petiquette collar or pick a different shade.
The lead measures approximately 1.2 metres, with a choice of four widths: 1/2″, 5/8″, 3/4″ and 1″. The trigger clasp, rivets and handle D-ring are all stainless steel.
When your dog is off lead, clip the clasp to the D-ring in the handle to wear the lead around your shoulders or waist, leaving your hands free.

Each and every lead we sell is handmade to order by us, for you.
To create a lead as individual as your dog, simply pick your leather colour, and we'll do the rest.
All orders are handmade and are usually dispatched within 7-10 business days, Monday to Friday.

EU Orders We're IOSS registered, so for orders up to €150 all VAT and import tax is collected at checkout — no surprise charges on delivery. We're currently unable to process EU orders over €150.
US Orders US Import tariffs apply to all US orders from 29th August 2025. Tariffs and customs duties are calculated and added at checkout, so there are nothing extra to pay on arrival.
All other international destinations We don't add taxes or duties at checkout, however your order may be subject to import duties on arrival. See our full delivery information page for details.
If you're not happy with your purchase, we'll refund or exchange any unused, unworn, undamaged item in re-saleable condition. Contact us within 30 days of receiving your order at hello@petiquettecollars.co.uk.
Return postage is your responsibility unless the item is faulty. Postage costs are non-refundable on change-of-mind returns. For US orders, tariffs and duties are non-refundable.
Collar doesn't fit? Don't worry, we can make you a new collar that will fit perfectly. As long as the collar is unworn you're able to return it within 30 days for an exchange. Please note, as all collars are handmade to order, we do not offer refunds on any size differences on exchanges.

FAQs
How do I clean my leather dog lead?
A wipe with a damp cloth after muddy walks is usually enough to keep your leather lead looking good. For more stubborn marks, add a small amount of washing up liquid to the damp cloth and gently wipe the affected area. If the lead gets sandy or splashed with seawater, wipe it afterwards to remove any residue or salt. Leave it to dry naturally, away from radiators or direct heat.
How long will my leather dog lead take to arrive?
We make each lead to order and usually dispatch within 7–10 working days, Monday to Friday. UK delivery by Royal Mail Tracked typically takes another 2–3 working days after dispatch. We’ll email your tracking details when your order is sent. International delivery times vary by destination. If you need your lead for a particular date, please contact us before ordering.
Can I order a lead to match my Petiquette collar?
Yes. This lead uses the same Italian leather as our collars and is available in the same 28 colours. Select your collar’s colour when ordering, or choose a different shade if you prefer.
What length and widths are available?

Product is not very soft
I bought this product along with a collar to replace a previous one and have been disappointed with how hard the leather is, I am sure in time it will soften a little. Time to find a different supplier sadly.

Beautifully made lead as usual- I’ve been using the leather leads and collars for years and they last for years. Had to by another lead as my partner lost it! Stunning range of colours - Dusty pink is my favourite with matching collar with crystals !

Beautiful quality… but
There’s no question that the collar and lead I bought were very well made and of good quality. However, the lead is a tiny bit short and the leather is very stiff. I’m guessing it will soften over time. The last lead I bought (from elsewhere) was already soft and supple, but it had a brass clip which stained my dog's coat. I bought this one because the clip is stainless steel and I’m hoping this will not stain.
So, a smart and well-made collar and lead… just wish they were softer and more supple.

I ordered a lead to match, our Pups collar I brought last year from Petiquette Collars. I’m so glad I did, this lead is so well made, and is a lot kinder on my hands, that my previous one, that I brought from a pet store.
