What Contact Details Should I Add to a Pet ID Tag?
The reverse side of our round tags is fully customisable with up to 5 lines of clear, easy-to-read text, which gives you plenty of space to stay compliant with UK law.
Under the Control of Dogs Order 1992, any dog in a public place in the UK must wear a tag displaying the owner's name and address (including the postcode). While a phone number isn't a legal requirement under this specific law, we strongly recommend adding at least one contact number so that anyone who finds your pet can reach you immediately.
Every tag we make in our workshop is also supplied with a strong metal split ring, making it simple to securely attach the tag to your pet's current collar or harness.
What Size Pet ID Tag Should You Choose for Your Breed?
To ensure a comfortable fit that doesn't drag or catch on things, our collections are available in three distinct diameters to suit different sizes of pets:
- 19mm (Small): Best for cats, kittens, small puppies, and toy dog breeds like Chihuahuas or Yorkies.
- 25mm (Medium): Our standard, most popular size, ideal for medium dog breeds like Cockapoos, French Bulldogs, and Border Collies.
- 32mm (Large): A larger, highly visible tag built specifically for big dog breeds like Labradors, Golden Retrievers, and German Shepherds.
Where Are Your Custom Dog and Cat Tags Made?
Every single tag is hand-printed and finished right here in our UK home-based workshop. We use high-grade 1.1mm thick aluminium, which ensures the tags are incredibly tough and hardwearing without adding unnecessary weight.
Unlike heavy, mass-produced traditional brass or steel tags, our aluminium tags are lightweight enough for small puppies, toy breeds, and cats to wear comfortably all day without it bothering them.
To make sure the funky designs survive daily pet life, all graphics are UV printed for a sharp, vibrant finish. We then apply a protective gloss varnish coating to both sides of the tag. This creates a fully waterproof barrier that protects the design from mud, rain, and swims, while helping to prevent everyday scratches and scuffs from ruining the look.
