The image shows how our dog collars are measured.  You can measure an existing collar the same way to double check what size you will need.
Don’t measure the total length of an existing collar though (from end to end) as this will result in ordering an incorrect size.

This collar would be a size 12″ – 14″ (30.5cm – 35.5cm) and will fit a dog whose neck is within those measurements.

Dog Collar Sizing Guide

  • Have your dog stand comfortably, hopefully they won’t wriggle too much, but if they do, then bribery with some tasty treats can help.

  • Wrap the tape measure or piece of string around the middle of your dog’s neck so that it is touching the fur but is not tight around the neck.

  • Make a note of this reading and then take a look at the sizes we offer for each of our bespoke collars.

We would recommend that you choose the collar size where the smallest hole would be as close to the neck measurement as possible.

Ensuring the Perfect Fit For Your Sighthound’s Collar

  • If you have a sighthound such as an Italian Greyhound, Whippet, lurcher, saluki or Greyhound (or one of the many other breeds!), rather than measuring around the middle of the neck, wrap the tape measure so that it is fairly snug, just behind the ears and under the chin at the top of the neck.

  • As with our classic collars would recommend that you choose the collar size where the smallest hole is as close to the neck measurement as possible.

How to Choose the Perfect Sized House Collar

  • Wrap a soft tape measure around the middle of the neck where the collar would normally sit. Make sure it’s fairly comfortable against the fur and not too tight.

  • If you’re sizing for a slip on style, measure the widest part of the head too, normally around the ears.
  • Select this size from the drop down menu.  For a slip on house collar, choose the largest measurement.

The total length of the collar from end to end (including hardware) will measure the size selected.
