What is a house collar?
A house collar is a lightweight, non-restrictive collar made to hold your dog’s ID tag indoors. It’s more comfortable than a standard walking collar and ideal for dogs that don’t wear their outdoor collar all the time.
Should a dog wear a collar in the house?
Many owners choose a lightweight house collar so their dog always has an ID tag on indoors. It’s a practical choice in case they slip out unexpectedly.
What sizes and colours are available for the house collar?
We make each collar to order in multiple sizes, from Italian Greyhounds to larger breeds. Choose from over two dozen leather colours to match your dog’s style. See our House Collars size guide for measuring tips.
Can a house collar be used for walks?
Yes — some owners leave the house collar on during walks so their dog’s ID tag is always visible. However, it’s not designed for lead attachment, so you’ll still need a walking collar or harness for safety.
It's easy to measure your dog for a Petiquette house collar. Ideally, they should be a little looser than a normal collar, and typically sit just below the mid-point of the neck. Follow the guide below and your dog will be have a tailored fit collar in no time at all.
The total length of the collar will include the leather, the o-ring and the clasp.
