Measuring your dog's neck for a martingale collar is easy. The most important thing to remember is that the collar needs to expand enough to slide on and off over the head, but have the room to tighten to allow control.
That's why you'll need two measurements to get an accurate fit:
1. Measure around the widest part of the head - this is usually around the ears.
2. Measure the mid point of the neck - where the collar will sit during walks.
Enter these two measurements when ordering and we'll craft a martingale collar that will fit perfectly.
Important note - Don't add any fingers underneath the tape measure as that will result in a collar that is too large.
If you're still unsure about how to measure your dog for a collar, then please get in touch through our contact form, email us on hello@petiquettecollars.co.uk or call on 0191 6031440.
Our Iggy martingale collar is handmade from soft Italian leather and designed especially for Italian Greyhounds and other small breeds with slim, delicate necks. It offers gentle control on walks while keeping your dog safe and secure in style.
Available in two widths—1.25″ or 1.5″—this martingale collar tapers to ?” stainless steel D-rings and features a contrasting leather loop for a subtle pop of colour. Choose from 28 leather colours and add an optional layer of padding for extra comfort.
Each collar is crafted to order in our Northumberland workshop and fully lined with supple calf leather. Smooth rounded edges help prevent rubbing, making it ideal for daily use on even the most sensitive necks.
Martingale collars should always be used under supervision and are not recommended for unsupervised wear.
Perfect for breeds such as: Sighthound, Small Breed, Italian Greyhound, Manchester Terrier

Yes. If the collar doesn't fit when it arrives, you can exchange it for a different size. The most common reason for a poor fit is measuring the total length of an existing collar rather than the dog's neck directly. Full details are on our returns and exchanges page at petiquettecollars.co.uk/returns.
A wipe with a damp cloth after muddy walks is usually enough to keep our leather collars looking good. For more stubborn stains, perhaps your dog has been rolling in fox poo, add a small amount of washing up liquid to the damp cloth and gently wipe the affected area. If your dog has been swimming, particularly in the sea, give the collar a wipe with a damp cloth afterwards to remove any residue or salt from the leather.
Your leather collar can be made in 28 Italian leather colours: Acorn, Baby Blue, Baby Pink, Black, Bottle Green, Candyfloss, Chianti, Daffodil, Dove, Dusky Pink, Easter Rose, Jaffa, Lime, Madeira Blue, Mushroom, Olive, Peanut Butter, Purple Velvet, Royal Purple, Ruby, School Grey, Shamrock, Signal Blue, Spearmint, Teal, Thistle, White, and Willow.
