How to measure for a Greyhound or Lurcher collar
- Wrap a soft tape measure around the top of your dog’s neck—just behind the ears and under the chin.
- Note the measurement in inches — this is your dog's neck measurement.
- Choose the size where that measurement falls within the range, ideally towards the smaller end to allow for adjustment.
This is the narrowest part of your dog’s head, and measuring here helps reduce the risk of your Whippet slipping out of their collar.
Example:
If your dog's measurement is 15", choose the 14" to 16" size. This means the collar adjusts between 14 and 16 inches — it does not mean the total length of the collar is 16".
If measuring from an existing collar, measure from the end of the leather to the hole you use — not the total length of the collar. The total length will result in a collar that's too big.

How long will my order take?
All collars and leads are made to order. We typically dispatch within 3–7 working days, with Royal Mail Tracked 48 adding 2–3 further working days in the UK. Most orders arrive within 5–10 working days. A dispatch notification is sent by email. If you need a collar by a specific date, contact us before ordering.
Can I exchange my collar if it doesn't fit?
Yes. If the collar doesn't fit when it arrives, you can exchange it for a different size. The most common reason for a poor fit is measuring the total length of an existing collar rather than the dog's neck directly. What type of collar is best for a Greyhound?
Greyhounds and lurchers are sighthound breeds, which means they have a narrow, tapered head that is slimmer than their neck. This is the opposite of most breeds, and it means a standard flat collar sized to fit the neck will simply slide straight off over the head. A sighthound collar solves this with a wider central section, often called a fishtail shape, which is broader than the neck when the collar is worn. This makes it more difficult for the collar to slip over the head, while the tapered ends sit neatly behind the ears for a comfortable, secure fit.

How do I clean a leather dog collar?
A wipe with a damp cloth after muddy walks is usually enough to keep our leather collars looking good. For more stubborn stains, perhaps your dog has been rolling in fox poo, add a small amount of washing up liquid to the damp cloth and gently wipe the affected area. If your dog has been swimming, particularly in the sea, give the collar a wipe with a damp cloth afterwards to remove any residue or salt from the leather.
