Frozen Peanut Butter & Banana Bites – A Cool Summer Dog Treat
When the weather heats up, our dogs need a little something to help them cool down—and these frozen peanut butter & banana dog treats are just the thing. Packed with natural ingredients, they’re a great source of protein, potassium, and probiotics.
Ingredients:
-
1 ripe banana
-
2 tablespoons xylitol-free peanut butter (natural and unsweetened)
-
3 tablespoons plain Greek yoghurt (no added sugar or sweeteners)
-
Optional: a splash of water to thin out the mix if needed
Method:
-
Mash & Mix
In a bowl, mash the banana until smooth. Add the peanut butter and Greek yoghurt, then stir until fully combined. You can also blend everything together for an even creamier consistency. -
Spoon into Moulds
Spoon the mixture into silicone moulds—paw or bone shapes work great for dogs. If you don’t have moulds, an ice cube tray works just as well. -
Freeze
Pop the moulds into the freezer for at least 3–4 hours, or until completely frozen. -
Serve
Once frozen, pop them out and serve on a shaded patio, or take a few on your next dog-friendly adventure to help your pup cool down.
Extra Tips:
-
Always check your peanut butter label to make sure it doesn’t contain xylitol—it’s toxic to dogs.
-
These treats will keep for up to a month in the freezer.
-
For dogs with dairy sensitivities, swap Greek yoghurt for mashed cooked sweet potato or coconut yoghurt.
