Frozen Peanut Butter & Banana Bites – A Cool Summer Dog Treat

When the weather heats up, our dogs need a little something to help them cool down—and these frozen peanut butter & banana dog treats are just the thing. Packed with natural ingredients, they’re a great source of protein, potassium, and probiotics.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 2 tablespoons xylitol-free peanut butter (natural and unsweetened)

  • 3 tablespoons plain Greek yoghurt (no added sugar or sweeteners)

  • Optional: a splash of water to thin out the mix if needed

Method:

  1. Mash & Mix
In a bowl, mash the banana until smooth. Add the peanut butter and Greek yoghurt, then stir until fully combined. You can also blend everything together for an even creamier consistency.

  2. Spoon into Moulds
Spoon the mixture into silicone moulds—paw or bone shapes work great for dogs. If you don’t have moulds, an ice cube tray works just as well.

  3. Freeze
Pop the moulds into the freezer for at least 3–4 hours, or until completely frozen.

  4. Serve
Once frozen, pop them out and serve on a shaded patio, or take a few on your next dog-friendly adventure to help your pup cool down.

Extra Tips:

  • Always check your peanut butter label to make sure it doesn’t contain xylitol—it’s toxic to dogs.

  • These treats will keep for up to a month in the freezer.

  • For dogs with dairy sensitivities, swap Greek yoghurt for mashed cooked sweet potato or coconut yoghurt.
