Is this collar suitable for dogs with longer coats?

How to measure your dog's neck for a leather dog collar

Use a soft tape measure (or a piece of string) and wrap it around the middle of your dog’s neck.
Make sure it’s fairly snug against the fur but not tight. No need to add fingers underneath – we’ve already allowed for a comfy fit in the sizing.
This is your dog’s neck measurement.

Now check our size chart and choose a collar where your dog’s neck measurement is closest to the smallest hole in the size range.

Example:
If your dog’s neck measures 10", you’ll need a collar listed as 9"–11", as this adjusts between 9 and 11 inches.

PLEASE DON’T MEASURE THE FULL LENGTH OF AN EXISTING COLLAR – this is not your dog’s neck measurement and will result in a collar that’s too big.

Take a look at our size chart below and choose a size where the measurement you have taken from your existing collar falls as close to the middle of the range.

For example, if the length of your existing collar from the end of the leather to the hole you use is 13", then you'd choose a size 12" - 14". This will give you room to tighten or slacken the collar.

If you're at all unsure, please do get in touch. We'd rather you receive the perfect fit for your dog first time.

Handmade to order, we aim to dispatch within 3-7 working days (Monday-Friday)
UK Orders dispatched by Royal Mail Tracked 48, which normally takes 2-3 working days
International Mail dispatched by Royal Mail International Tracked, then handed to local postal service in destination country. Timescales vary from country to country.

The EU

We are IOSS registered - this means that for orders up to €150, any VAT or import tax is collected at checkout, so it's already taken care of. You won’t need to pay anything extra when your parcel arrives, helping you avoid unexpected customs charges or delivery delays.

Unfortunately, due to IOSS regulations, we're unable to process orders to the EU over €150 at this time.

The US

Since August 29th 2025, all orders to the United States are subject to the new Trump tariffs. We automatically calculate and add the tariff and customs duties to your order at checkout, so there are no surprise charges when your collar arrives.

UAE, Qatar, & Saudi Arabia

Due to issues with Royal Mail handing over to local postal services in the UAE, Qatar & Saudi Arabia, we only offer courier services to these destinations.

All other international destinations

For all destinations outside of the USA and the EU we do not add any taxes or duties on international orders, which means that for delivery outside the United Kingdom they may be subject to import duties and taxes.

Excellent collars

Despite already having several of these collars for the dogs I couldn’t resist getting my latest colour choice which is teal with a black lining to match with their fleece harnesses! The collars are beautiful, soft yet sturdy, fit well and the colour combinations are endless. The collars arrived when expected and I was kept informed as to the status of the order throughout. No doubt I’ll be buying more in the future!

Yet another beautiful collar from Petiquette. The double colours in Lime and Daffodil look great together and on my black puppy really shows well. Lovely collars

I bought the Italian leather collars a few years ago and as they have been great I just had to get them for the new dogs. These twin tone collars are really lovely. The colours are beautiful and they are soft and flexible. Great for the young puppy. Might have to update the older collars now to match the new ones!
