This handmade leather Whippet puppy collar is designed to give your young sighthound comfort, gentle support, and a custom look from day one. With 28 colours to choose from, you can create a collar that’s every bit as unique as they are.
Made in a slim fishtail shape, the collar is slightly wider at the front to protect your puppy’s delicate neck and help prevent them slipping out, while tapering to a lightweight strap with a secure buckle. This thoughtful shape supports your growing pup without adding bulk or weight.
Each one is handmade to order in our Northumberland workshop using soft Italian calf leather, double-layered for durability and smooth against sensitive skin. You can choose from two widths to suit your puppy’s size, giving them a collar that feels comfortable from the very first wear.

When should my Whippet puppy start wearing a collar?
Most puppies can start wearing a lightweight collar from 8 weeks old. This collar is designed with the comfort of young Whippets in mind, so it’s ideal for everyday wear from the start.
Should my Whippet puppy wear their collar all the time?
For sighthounds, we recommend using a lightweight house collar indoors to hold ID tags, and a walking collar only when you’re heading out. This helps keep them comfortable and safe.
How do I measure my puppy for this collar?
Measure around the narrowest part of your puppy’s head, just behind the ears and under the chin. This ensures the collar sits securely without being too tight.
Can I use this collar for walks?
Yes, this collar is designed to be safe for supervised walks, but as your puppy grows you may wish to move to a full-size Whippet walking collar for additional support.

How to measure for a Whippet puppy collar
To measure your Whippet puppy's neck for a leather collar, simply follow these steps:
- Wrap a soft tape measure so that it is fairly snug, just behind the ears and under the chin at the top of the neck as shown in the image and make a note of the measurement.

Choose the collar where the smallest number in the size range is as close to the neck measurement as possible.
- For example, the measurement is 10", so choose the 9" - 11".

- UK Orders dispatched by Royal Mail Tracked 48, which normally takes 2-3 working days
- International Mail dispatched by Royal Mail International Tracked, then handed to local postal service in destination country. Timescales vary from country to country.

The EU
We are IOSS registered - this means that for orders up to €150, any VAT or import tax is collected at checkout, so it's already taken care of. You won’t need to pay anything extra when your parcel arrives, helping you avoid unexpected customs charges or delivery delays.
Unfortunately, due to IOSS regulations, we're unable to process orders to the EU over €150 at this time.
The US
Since August 29th 2025, all orders to the United States are subject to the new Trump tariffs. We automatically calculate and add the tariff and customs duties to your order at checkout, so there are no surprise charges when your collar arrives.
UAE, Qatar, & Saudi Arabia
Due to issues with Royal Mail handing over to local postal services in the UAE, Qatar & Saudi Arabia, we only offer courier services to these destinations.
All other international destinations
For all destinations outside of the USA and the EU we do not add any taxes or duties on international orders, which means that for delivery outside the United Kingdom they may be subject to import duties and taxes.
