The Breakaway Leather House Collar is a lightweight, everyday collar designed with your dog’s comfort and safety in mind. It’s crafted with a soft paracord core that gives the collar a gentle flex, then carefully wrapped in smooth Italian leather in over two dozen vibrant shades.
Rather than using a traditional buckle, this collar is fitted with a safety breakaway clasp. If the collar ever gets snagged on furniture or catches on something at home, the clasp will release with around 2kg of pressure—helping prevent injuries if your dog tries to pull away.
An O-ring in your choice of stainless steel or rose gold makes it easy to attach an ID tag, while keeping the overall feel light and minimal. Whether your dog wears it all day or just at home, it’s a stylish and practical option that keeps safety at the heart of the design.
Each collar is made to order by neck size, so it fits neatly without bulk. Ideal for dogs who don’t need to wear a walking collar indoors, but still need ID.

How does the breakaway clasp work?
The clasp is designed to release under around 2kg of pressure. If your dog’s collar gets caught on something and they pull back, the clasp will open to free them.
Can I walk my dog using this collar?
No—this collar isn’t intended for walks or lead attachment. It’s made purely for holding ID tags at home. For walks, we recommend using one of our leather walking collars instead.
What sizes and colours are available?
We make each collar to your dog’s exact neck size for the best fit. You can choose from over two dozen leather colours and opt for a rose gold or stainless steel ring.
Is the clasp safe for small dogs?
Yes—because the breakaway releases at around 2kg of force, it’s suitable even for smaller breeds who may be more at risk from snags or tugs.

How to measure your dog for a house collar
It's easy to measure your dog for a Petiquette house collar. Ideally, they should be a little looser than a normal collar, and typically sit just below the mid-point of the neck. Follow the guide below and your dog will be have a tailored fit collar in no time at all.
- Wrap a soft tape measure below the mid point of the neck (under where a regular collar would sit). If you don't have a tape measure, a piece of string or wool will do, and lay it against a ruler.
- The tape measure should be a little loose around the fur and not be too tight.
- Select a size as close to the measurement as possible. If it's in between sizes we'd recommend opting for the larger size.
The total length of the collar will include the leather, the o-ring and the clasp.
