How to measure your dog for a house collar
It's easy to measure your dog for a Petiquette house collar. Ideally, they should be a little looser than a normal collar, and typically sit just below the mid-point of the neck. Follow the guide below and your dog will be have a tailored fit collar in no time at all.
- Wrap a soft tape measure below the mid point of the neck (under where a regular collar would sit). If you don't have a tape measure, a piece of string or wool will do, and lay it against a ruler.
- The tape measure should be a little loose around the fur and not be too tight.
- Select a size as close to the measurement as possible. If it's in between sizes we'd recommend opting for the larger size.
The total length of the collar will include the leather, the o-ring and the clasp.

The Breakaway Leather House Collar is a lightweight, everyday collar designed with your dog’s comfort and safety in mind. It’s crafted with a soft paracord core that gives the collar a gentle flex, then carefully wrapped in smooth Italian leather in over two dozen vibrant shades.
Rather than using a traditional buckle, this collar is fitted with a safety breakaway clasp. If the collar ever gets snagged on furniture or catches on something at home, the clasp will release with around 2kg of pressure—helping prevent injuries if your dog tries to pull away.
An O-ring in your choice of stainless steel or rose gold makes it easy to attach an ID tag, while keeping the overall feel light and minimal. Whether your dog wears it all day or just at home, it’s a stylish and practical option that keeps safety at the heart of the design.
Each collar is made to order by neck size, so it fits neatly without bulk. Ideal for dogs who don’t need to wear a walking collar indoors, but still need ID.

EU Orders We're IOSS registered, so for orders up to €150 all VAT and import tax is collected at checkout — no surprise charges on delivery. We're currently unable to process EU orders over €150.
US Orders Trump tariffs apply to all US orders from 29th August 2025. Tariffs and customs duties are calculated and added at checkout, so there are nothing extra to pay on arrival.

If you're not happy with your purchase, we'll refund or exchange any unused, unworn, undamaged item in re-saleable condition. Contact us within 30 days of receiving your order at hello@petiquettecollars.co.uk.
Return postage is your responsibility unless the item is faulty. Postage costs are non-refundable on change-of-mind returns. For US orders, tariffs and duties are non-refundable.
Collar doesn't fit? Don't worry — we can make you a new collar that will fit perfectly. Just contact us within 30 days and return it to us.

How long will my order take?
All collars and leads are made to order. We typically dispatch within 3–7 working days, with Royal Mail Tracked 48 adding 2–3 further working days in the UK. Most orders arrive within 5–10 working days. A dispatch notification is sent by email. If you need a collar by a specific date, contact us before ordering.
Can I exchange my collar if it doesn't fit?
Yes. If the collar doesn't fit when it arrives, you can exchange it for a different size. Full details are on our returns and exchanges page at petiquettecollars.co.uk/returns.

Why should my dog wear a house collar instead of a standard collar indoors?
A house collar is designed specifically for 24/7 comfort and safety at home. Unlike standard walking collars, which can be bulky or heavy, our house collars are made from soft Italian calf leather and feature a lightweight, slim profile. This makes them gentle on the neck and ideal for carrying an ID tag without causing fur matting or irritation. Because they are non-adjustable and have no heavy buckles, they provide a secure, low-profile fit that most dogs barely notice they are wearing.
Can a house collar be used for walks?
While your dog can certainly wear a house collar during walks for identification, you should never attach a lead to it. These collars are specifically designed to be lightweight and slim for indoor comfort. Because they are made for holding ID tags rather than restraint, the leather and hardware are not built to withstand the force of a dog pulling on a lead. For safety, always use a dedicated walking collar or harness when your dog is on a lead.
