Before Your Dog’s Stay

Preparing for your dog’s woofcation should be as exciting and stress-free as preparing for your own.

To make sure your pup’s woofcation is safe, seamless, and tailored to their exact needs, here is a quick guide to everything you need to know before check-in day.

It’s completely normal to have questions about home dog boarding. Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked.

FAQs

We are based in Seaton Delaval, Northumberland, just seconds away from local woodland trails, nature reserves, and short drives to the Northumberland coastline and beaches.

Yes! We hold an Animal Activity Licence issued by Northumberland County Council with a 4-Star rating, the highest attainable rating for a home boarding business in its first year. We are also fully insured for pet care and boarding.

An informal Meet & Greet lets your pup sniff around our home and meet Kevin. A 1-night trial stay ensures your dog feels happy sleeping over before a main holiday booking, giving everyone total peace of mind.

The trial night is charged at our standard nightly rate. Once your main stay is confirmed and booked, the cost of the trial night is deducted directly from your final balance.

Because we strictly host dogs from just one household at a time, spaces are very limited. We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for summer holidays, Christmas, and bank holiday weekends.

Other than our resident Miniature Poodle, Kevin, we operate a strict, single-home policy. That means that we’ll only board a maximum of two dogs from one home at any time.

Each dog will receive a minimum of two walks per day depending on their age, breed and health, typically between 20-60 minutes.
We’ll work with you to match your dog’s routine while staying with us.

Our standard boarding window runs from 1:00 PM to 1:00 PM. If your travel plans require an earlier drop-off or later collection, we offer flexible check-in times by prior arrangement for a small additional fee.

Please bring enough of their regular food and treats for the duration of their stay, along with their favorite bed or blanket, bowls, and a couple of beloved toys. If they sleep in a crate overnight, feel free to bring that along too.

Absolutely! We love sending regular photo and video updates directly to your phone so you can see all the fun, beach walks, and cozy naps your pup is enjoying on their woofcation.

Because guest dogs share our home with our resident dog, Kevin, we only accept friendly, dog-sociable guests. As we are not professional trainers or behaviorists, we cannot host dogs with reactivity, aggression, or separation anxiety.

Your dog’s safety is our top priority. In the unlikely event of illness or injury, we will contact you (or your emergency contact) immediately and seek prompt veterinary care, using your preferred local vet whenever possible.

Puppies over the age of 6 months are welcome. We’ll follow your training schedule as closely as possible, but we’re not professional trainers.
There is an additional charge for puppies of £5 per night.

We accept cash and bank transfer for our home dog boarding.
