How to measure for a Greyhound lurcher collar
Use a soft tape measure and follow these steps:
- Place the tape around the top of your dog’s neck—just behind the ears and under the chin.
- Keep the tape snug, but not tight.
- Note the measurement in inches or centimetres.
This is the narrowest part of your dog’s head, and measuring here helps reduce the risk of your Greyhound or Lurcher slipping out of their collar.
Tip: Choose a size where your dog’s neck measurement is closest to the smallest hole in the size range. This gives you a bit of room for adjustment.
How to measure an existing collar
If you have an existing collar that's a perfect fit, then follow the guide below:
Take a look at our size chart below and choose a size where the measurement you have taken from your existing collar falls as close to the middle of the range.
For example, if the length of your existing collar from the end of the leather to the hole you use is 13", then you'd choose a size 12.5" - 14.5". This will give you room to tighten or slacken the collar.
If you're at all unsure, please do get in touch. We'd rather you receive the perfect fit for your dog first time.

The Starry Night is a star studded greyhound collar that brings a little sparkle to every walk. Hand-decorated with silver star studs and genuine Swarovski crystals, it glistens beautifully in the light—perfect for dogs who like to stand out.
Choose from a wide range of Italian leather colours and customise the crystal shades to suit your sighthound’s personality. Each collar is handmade to order in our Northumberland workshop, with every star and crystal securely hand-riveted in place.
Lined with butter-soft calf leather and finished with gently rounded edges, it’s designed to prevent rubbing or hair loss around the neck. A strong leather core adds lasting durability, making this collar ideal for daily wear or special occasions.
Shaped in our signature fishtail style, the collar measures 2” at its widest point and tapers to a 1” buckle and strap. A stainless steel D-ring allows for easy lead attachment.

EU Orders We're IOSS registered, so for orders up to €150 all VAT and import tax is collected at checkout — no surprise charges on delivery. We're currently unable to process EU orders over €150.
US Orders Trump tariffs apply to all US orders from 29th August 2025. Tariffs and customs duties are calculated and added at checkout, so there are nothing extra to pay on arrival.

If you're not happy with your purchase, we'll refund or exchange any unused, unworn, undamaged item in re-saleable condition. Contact us within 14 days of receiving your order at hello@petiquettecollars.co.uk.
Return postage is your responsibility unless the item is faulty. Postage costs are non-refundable on change-of-mind returns. For US orders, tariffs and duties are non-refundable.
Collar doesn't fit? Don't worry — we can make you a new collar that will fit perfectly. Just contact us within 14 days and return it to us.

FAQs
How long will my order take?
All collars and leads are made to order. We typically dispatch within 3–7 working days, with Royal Mail Tracked 48 adding 2–3 further working days in the UK. Most orders arrive within 5–10 working days. A dispatch notification is sent by email. If you need a collar by a specific date, contact us before ordering.
Can I exchange my collar if it doesn't fit?
Yes. If the collar doesn't fit when it arrives, you can exchange it for a different size. The most common reason for a poor fit is measuring the total length of an existing collar rather than the dog's neck directly. What type of collar is best for a Greyhound?
Greyhounds and lurchers have slim necks and heads that are narrower than their necks, which makes it easy for a normal flat collar to slip off. A greyhound collar has a wider section at the front, often called a fishtail shape, which spreads pressure evenly and keeps your dog safe without discomfort. The tapered ends sit neatly behind the ears so the collar stays in place.

Are the crystals secure enough for everyday wear?
Every Swarovski crystal is individually secured by hand in our Northumberland workshop. We’ve had customers wearing the same collars for years of daily walks without losing a stone. If you do ever lose one, get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
