Your Choice of Colour: Available in a choice of 28 Italian leather colours.
Designed for Whippets: Wide-tapered shape supports the neck while preventing your dog from backing out of the collar.
Built to Last: Fitted with rust-resistant stainless steel hardware ideal for everyday wear.
Measuring your dog's neck for a martingale collar is easy. The most important thing to remember is that the collar needs to expand enough to slide on and off over the head, but have the room to tighten to allow control.
That's why you'll need two measurements to get an accurate fit:
1. Measure around the widest part of the head - this is usually around the ears.
2. Measure the mid point of the neck - where the collar will sit during walks.
Enter these two measurements when ordering and we'll craft a martingale collar that will fit perfectly.
Important note - Don't add any fingers underneath the tape measure as that will result in a collar that is too large.
If you're still unsure about how to measure your dog for a collar, then please get in touch through our contact form, email us on hello@petiquettecollars.co.uk or call on 0191 6031440.
This Whippet martingale collar is handmade in soft Italian leather and designed for dogs that need gentle control on walks. The 1.75″ wide collar tapers to ¾” stainless steel D-rings, and features a colourful leather loop that tightens slightly when needed—offering a secure yet comfortable fit.
Ideal for Whippets, Basenjis, Azawakhs, and other medium-sized dogs with slim necks, this martingale collar prevents slipping without putting pressure on the throat. Choose from 28 leather colours, with the option to add a layer of soft padding for extra comfort.
Each collar is handmade to order in our Northumberland workshop using durable leather and rust-proof hardware. The rounded edges and soft lining help prevent rubbing or irritation, making it a comfortable choice for everyday use.
Please note: Martingale collars should only be worn under supervision and are not recommended for unsupervised wear or for use as chew-proof collars.
Perfect for breeds such as: Medium Breed, Sighthound, Lurcher, Saluki, Whippet

Yes. If the collar doesn't fit when it arrives, you can exchange it for a different size. The most common reason for a poor fit is measuring the total length of an existing collar rather than the dog's neck directly. Full details are on our returns and exchanges page at petiquettecollars.co.uk/returns.
A wipe with a damp cloth after muddy walks is usually enough to keep our leather collars looking good. For more stubborn stains, perhaps your dog has been rolling in fox poo, add a small amount of washing up liquid to the damp cloth and gently wipe the affected area. If your dog has been swimming, particularly in the sea, give the collar a wipe with a damp cloth afterwards to remove any residue or salt from the leather.
Your leather collar can be made in 28 Italian leather colours: Acorn, Baby Blue, Baby Pink, Black, Bottle Green, Candyfloss, Chianti, Daffodil, Dove, Dusky Pink, Easter Rose, Jaffa, Lime, Madeira Blue, Mushroom, Olive, Peanut Butter, Purple Velvet, Royal Purple, Ruby, School Grey, Shamrock, Signal Blue, Spearmint, Teal, Thistle, White, and Willow.
