Petiquette Collars has been making handmade leather dog collars and leads in Northumberland since 2009. Every order comes from a small workshop, not a warehouse. We have thousands of five-star reviews from customers across the UK and worldwide — you can read them here.
Measure directly around your dog’s neck with a soft tape measure, at the point where the collar would sit — not too close to the head, not down at the shoulders. Pull it snug but not tight. That measurement is the one to give us. Don’t measure an existing collar end to end; that’s the most common sizing mistake we see, and it usually results in a collar that is an inch or two on the large size. If you’re unsure, our size guides walks through the method, and we’re always happy to help via email or phone if you’d rather check before ordering.
All collars and leads are made to order in our workshop. We typically dispatch within 3 to 7 working days. Once dispatched, Royal Mail Tracked 48 takes a further 2 to 3 working days within the UK, so most orders arrive within 5 to 10 working days of being placed. You’ll receive a dispatch notification by email when your collar is on its way. If you need something for a specific date, get in touch before ordering and we’ll do our best to help.
Yes. If the collar doesn’t fit when it arrives, you can exchange it for a different size. The most common reason for a poor fit is measuring an existing collar rather than the dog’s neck directly, so it’s worth double-checking your measurement before ordering using our size guide. Full details on how exchanges work are on our returns and exchanges page.
Yes, we ship worldwide. International orders go via Royal Mail International Tracked or courier depending on the destination. Delivery times vary by country, Europe typically takes 5 to 10 working days, further afield can be 7 to 14. Costs are calculated at checkout. If you have questions about a specific destination, just get in touch.
Absolutely, colour choice is one of the things people most often want to talk through before placing an order, and it’s genuinely hard to judge from a screen. We have 28 leather colours, and we’re happy to talk through which shades tend to work well with particular coat colours or breeds. You can also see the full colour range on our colour options page. Give us a call or drop us an email and we’ll help you narrow it down.
For sighthounds, we use specific widths by breed: Italian Greyhound collars come in 1.25″ for petite dogs and 1.5″ for regular-sized Italian Greyhounds, whippet collars are 1.75″, and greyhound collars are 2″. These widths are chosen to suit the neck proportions of each breed, so there’s no guesswork on your part.
For regular dog collars, we make five widths — 1/2″, 5/8″, 3/4″, 1″, and 1.25″ — and the width is matched to the collar size, so the right width comes as part of choosing the right size for your dog. If you have a specific width in mind, or your dog sits at an unusual size, get in touch and we can usually accommodate that.
