A stylish dog collar made with natural hemp webbing and finished with luxurious, burgundy vegetable tanned leather.
Hemp is one of the strongest, natural fibres on the planet so is perfect for a dog collar. It’s resistant to mildew and mould, so you don’t need to worry about any nasty smells if it gets a little damp. Hemp softens beautifully over time, so the more it’s used, the comfier it becomes.
We’ve hand selected this burgundy vegetable tanned leather from a world famous Tuscan tannery, and over time, its colour will deepen as a gorgeous patina develops. As with all of our collars, we use stainless steel hardware, so even if your dog takes a dip wearing their collar, you won’t need to worry about rust.
The leather and hemp collar can be made in two widths; 3/4″ (2cm) and 1″ (2.5cm), making them perfect for medium to large breeds.
How do I choose the right size?
Measure your dog’s neck where the collar normally sits, with the tape snug but not tight. Use the size guide in the tab above to match your measurement to the correct size. If you’re between sizes, go up a size, or message us and we’ll help you choose.
How do I clean a hemp and leather collar?
Hemp webbing is fine to get wet and can be gently scrubbed if it gets muddy. For the leather parts of the collar, wipe with a damp cloth. Let it dry naturally away from direct heat.
Is hemp webbing stiff when it’s new?
Yes, hemp webbing can feel quite firm at first because the fibres are tightly woven. After a bit of wear it starts to soften, becomes more flexible, and feels beautifully soft while worn, while still keeping its strength.
Can my dog swim in this collar?
Yes. If the collar gets wet, give it a quick wipe afterwards and let it dry naturally. If your dog has a light coloured coat, it’s best to take the collar off while it’s wet, as burgundy leather can sometimes transfer a little colour.
PLEASE DON’T MEASURE THE FULL LENGTH OF AN EXISTING COLLAR – this is not your dog’s neck measurement and will result in a collar that’s too big.If you feel your dog has a neck measurement that is in between sizes and you're unsure which would be the best fit, please get in touch and we'll be able to advise.
