Half Check Collar Size Guide

Back to all size guides

This guide is for half check collars. Half check collars tighten slightly when tension is applied, so they must be large enough to slide on and off over the head while still tightening safely for control.

What you need

A soft tape measure. If you do not have one, use string and then measure the string with a ruler.

Step 1. Measure the widest part of the head

Measure around the widest part of your dog’s head, usually around and just in front of the ears. This measurement confirms the collar can slide on and off comfortably.

Step 2. Measure the middle of the neck

Measure around the middle of your dog’s neck, where the collar will sit during walks. This is the working fit of the collar once it tightens.

Important. Keep the tape snug against the fur but not tight. Do not add fingers underneath the tape measure, as this will result in a collar that is too large.

Enter both measurements when ordering and we will craft your half check collar to fit correctly.
