How to measure your puppy's neck for a leather dog collar
When measuring your puppy for a leather dog collar from Petiquette Collars, the easiest way is to measure the circumference of your puppy's neck using a soft tape measure or piece of string.
Wrap a soft tape measure or piece of string around the middle of the neck so that it is fairly snug against the fur. Don't put any fingers underneath the tape measure.
This measurement is your dog's neck size.
Take a look at our size chart and select a collar size where the neck measurement you have taken sits comfortably within.
For example, a collar with the a size range of 6.5"-8.5" can be adjusted to fit dog's with necks of sizes from 6.5" up to 8.5". If your dog has a neck measurement of 7", you would choose this size.
DO NOT MEASURE THE TOTAL LENGTH OF A COLLAR, IT WILL RESULT IN YOU RECEIVING THE WRONG SIZE FOR YOUR DOG.

The Adjustable Leather Puppy Collar is a lightweight, comfortable collar made from beautifully soft Italian leather. It’s designed with small breed puppies in mind, offering a gentle fit without added bulk.
IMPORTANT – THIS COLLAR CANNOT BE USED WITH A LEAD. IT IS FOR HOLDING ID TAGS ONLY.
A breakaway safety clasp, with a breakaway point of around 2.5kg, helps protect your puppy if the collar gets caught while they’re playing or exploring, while a stainless steel D-ring gives you a secure place to attach ID tags. The collar adjusts easily with a metal slider, so it can grow along with your pup.
Available in three adjustable sizes and over two dozen rich leather colours, this is a practical first collar that’s just as suited to small adult dogs needing a lightweight house collar.

EU Orders We're IOSS registered, so for orders up to €150 all VAT and import tax is collected at checkout — no surprise charges on delivery. We're currently unable to process EU orders over €150.
US Orders Trump tariffs apply to all US orders from 29th August 2025. Tariffs and customs duties are calculated and added at checkout, so there are nothing extra to pay on arrival.

If you're not happy with your purchase, we'll refund or exchange any unused, unworn, undamaged item in re-saleable condition. Contact us within 30 days of receiving your order at hello@petiquettecollars.co.uk.
Return postage is your responsibility unless the item is faulty. Postage costs are non-refundable on change-of-mind returns. For US orders, tariffs and duties are non-refundable.

How long will my order take?
All collars and leads are made to order. We typically dispatch within 3–7 working days, with Royal Mail Tracked 48 adding 2–3 further working days in the UK. Most orders arrive within 5–10 working days. A dispatch notification is sent by email. If you need a collar by a specific date, contact us before ordering.
Can I exchange my collar if it doesn't fit?
Yes. If the collar doesn't fit when it arrives, you can exchange it for a different size. Full details are on our returns and exchanges page at petiquettecollars.co.uk/returns.

Why should my dog wear a house collar instead of a standard collar indoors?
A house collar is designed specifically for 24/7 comfort and safety at home. Unlike standard walking collars, which can be bulky or heavy, our house collars are made from soft Italian calf leather and feature a lightweight, slim profile. This makes them gentle on the neck and ideal for carrying an ID tag without causing fur matting or irritation. Because they are non-adjustable and have no heavy buckles, they provide a secure, low-profile fit that most dogs barely notice they are wearing.
Can a house collar be used for walks?
While your dog can certainly wear a house collar during walks for identification, you should never attach a lead to it. These collars are specifically designed to be lightweight and slim for indoor comfort. Because they are made for holding ID tags rather than restraint, the leather and hardware are not built to withstand the force of a dog pulling on a lead. For safety, always use a dedicated walking collar or harness when your dog is on a lead.
