A vegan dog collar made from sustainable hemp and cork
We’re well known for our quality leather collars, but we thought it was about time we made a vegan dog collar made from sustainable materials. We’ve sourced strong, natural webbing made from hemp fibres and combined it with a visually stunning cork fabric to create a stylish vegan dog collar that doesn’t cost the earth. Literally.
Hemp is a fast growing crop with excellent carbon sequestration properties, meaning that while it grows, a single hectare of hemp can absorb up to 15 tonnes of CO2. A hemp crop, unlike many other agricultural crops can be rotated up to three times per year; it truly is a fantastic plant. The webbing made from hemp fibres is naturally resistant to ultraviolet light, mould and mildew, and softens beautifully the longer it is worn.
Cork fabric is made from the bark of a cork tree. Cork is a natural mosquito repellent, it doesn’t absorb dust, so is hypo-allergenic. Cork fabric is stain resistant and can be washed with soap and water, making it perfect for muddy walks and countryside adventures. It’s water, fade, moisture and mildew resistant making it the perfect alternative to animal leather.
We use absolutely top notch hardware for our hemp and cork, vegan collars. The buckle itself is made from airplane grade aluminium, with stainless steel pins and springs within the mechanism, so you can be sure that it won’t fail when needed most. A stainless steel d ring is sewn into the collar, creating a luxury, vegan dog collar that you just won’t find elsewhere.
